Inked Magazine x MGK
Tuesday March 20th I was fortunate enough to attend the Inked Magazine event for Machine Gun Kelly at the Hiro Ballroom. MGK also released his first album "Half Naked and Almost Famous," that day. He took to the stage with surprise performances by Travis Porter and French Montana with sounds provided by DJ Prostyles.
It was a great night surrounded by great people in the balcony VIP section. Thanks so much to Toasty, Andrew, and EvRyan.

Machine Gun Kelly on Hot 97
I recently got into MGK (Machine Gun Kelly). I had been hearing about him for a while but I didn't pay much mind to him. While flicking through channels a while back I went to MTV Hits and his video "Wild Boy" featuring Wacka Flocka was on. I instantly loved the song off the energy he gave in the video. His look, the wildness and freedom in the video caught my attention; plus the song was pretty good.
Like I do any artist I gave him a try and researched him and his music. Various interviews, blog posts, and his music sold me. I truly enjoy his music and his mentality. Even his tweets are hilarious, he says things I would say.
In the interview below, conducted February 3rd 2012, I feel like they didn't give him fair respect off of one factor, how do you interview someone and NOT research them? How do you not know the work artists that you are interviewing? Rosenberg compares MGK to Yelawolf and MGK comments how his music sounds nothing like Yelawolf which is correct. The two artists have nothing in common lyrically, from the way they rap to what they rap about. I believe it is unfair that just because they are both white that they get automatically compared.
Its 2012, Eminem is not the only white rapper and rap is definitely not about skin color, it is about potential and message. ABout being a voice people can relate to and/or enjoy. I agree with the statements MGK makes in this interview, and I agree with Rosenberg when he says that MGK is young and that his time of glory is coming. But if you truly gave MGK even a little background check you would applaud the accomplishments he has made at his young age and the vasts following he has.
Shout out to MGK for being a 1990 baby! This generation is not like the others. We are more motivated and more determine than previous years. This era is all new and changed, music is not the same, style, art, fashion is not the same. We are introducing the new wave for future generations to build on and branch a new.
Lace UP!
P.S. check out the homies over at Kreemo featuring MGK reppin their "Drop Out Bear" tee

Battle Ship

Last night I went to see "Red Tails" (GREAT movie, it's a must see). One of the previews was for the movie "Battleship," which looks interesting. What I was highly interested in was Rihanna who has a part in the movie. I am beyond hype to see her in a movie, hopefully she got good air time.
The movie is starring Liam Neeson, Rihanna, Alexnder Skarsgard, and Billy Slaughter. Battleship is a science fiction naval war film based on the game of the same name. It is a story of an international Navy fleet engaged in a very dynamic and intense battle against an alien race. This is Rihanna's acting debut.
Liam Neeson and Rihanna in a movie? I'm sold. Battleship 2012 movie hits theaters on May 18th 2012. If you haven't seen the preview for "Battleship" I've posted both trailer (number 2 then number 1).

Nudity is Art
This weekend Thirty Four D did the shooting for our series "Nudity Is Art." This is the first of many to come. Over here at 34D we believe that there is art in anything and every aspect of life. Stripped of censor is how we like to do and what better way then having gorgeous women in the bodies God blessed them with and some colorful body art. And no these photos aren't just for show, they will be printed on shirts.
The "Nudity Is Art" series is going to be on going series within the 34D line. Each shirt will bare a different female in different themes, colors, and poses. We will give you more on the series in the upcoming weeks, but for now check out a few photos from our first N.I.A. shoot.

34D Spring '11: Hello, Good Morning!
Hello! Hello! Good-morning! Wake up, look in the mirror and behold greatness. Your first thoughts? World domination! The road to conquest? You're on it, and there isn't a soul that can tell you different. Its not about what you put on, not about trying to show out, and it's damn sure not about what a hater got to say, they know your name, NOT your story. Its about stressing no one and nothing, focusing on your hustle and your goals, so that at the end of your day you can kick back relax and bask in the fact the world is yours. Its about making a statement, and 34D is here to give an image to what you're thinking.

So while you stressing we're eating good stuntin' on you happy meal children.

Is that breast I see all up on a tee? Yup! 34D will always provide something that if given the chance society would censor. We embrace the raw, the nitty gritty, the pervertedness, the taboo culture, nude art, and raunchiness. 34D is about art statements and you don't censor art, you glorify it. 34D will continue to practice what we believe in, so society fix your face and sit your ass down, team 34D WINNING!

34D Illustrator Alex Mercado
He is the man behind some of 34D's illustrations such as "Dressed To Kill" and "World Domination" tees. He is also the man responsible for 34D's first promo video and a few upcoming videos we got stewing as well. We did a interview with Mister Mercado for you to know the man along side Dea Pierre (founder and designer), Matthew Daley (photographer) behind 34D's World Conquest.
Introduce yourself for our readers.
My name is Alex Mercado, aka K-O-M-P, aka the defmachinejack of all trades, a little of this a lot of that.
What are your crafts and skills?
At heart I'm an illustrator/designer/film maker based in New York City. I do freelance videography, storyboard movies, produce film, draw Comic books, Tat and shirt designs as well. I love to wreck all aspects of the art scene with my work. I'm proud of it, and live and die by the INK. I'm happy to help Miz. Pierre on her upcoming lines, she's a person that stands out from the crowd. I will stand tall with people that are creative and unapologetic ally so.
How old are you?
400 years, I'm a motherfuckin' vampire.
What school do you attend?
I am Fashion Institute of Technology alumni. Recognize! I went for Illustration, but that's a basis, I learned more as I did hands on with film and such. You can never replace true experiences in the field with those in a classroom. Schooling is a good foundation, but sometimes you shake it off and get into the battlefield and learn first hand... there's absolutely no imitations.
What's your future goals?
I don't see futures, just expectations and goals for myself. I will dominate with my work, I will become known. I will have people fight for my skills, they will recognize that I am a creative being that will please their senses, and open up a world that is unfathomable to their initial perceptions.
Hobbies?
I love to read, appreciate the works of this world that others have to offer and took their time to create. Graphic novels, traditional novels, audio books. Finding new music. Films, etc. There is so much beauty in this world that men and women have created with their imaginations in hand with the world's natural beauty. It's a crime to deny yourself to look upon them. Stop and appreciate what your fellow human being has created for you to escape reality with.
Tell me three things people wouldn't know right off the back if they met you.
1. I'm incredibly empathetic, I will listen to people and try to help in any way possible. As arrogant or prickish as I might seem at times!
2. I'm musically inclined and have been in one or two bands. About 50% of my work is inspired by or based on something musical. Music is integral for a happy soul.
3. I'm love's bitch
Alex is a highly valued part of 34D, it is our extreme pleasure working with him and with him as part of the team we plan on making big moves and history.

Oh and did we mention he is also the man who drew out Dea Pierre's half sleeve? (Sleeve not complete, still alot of work to be done.)
