KiD CuDi’s Complex Interview

KiD CuDi has just been declared the cover of the upcoming Complex Magazine. He and Joe la Puma sat down for a very deep and interesting interview. It's long but this kid is pretty cool lol.

After working a lot with Kanye, how does it feel to be focused on your own career?

Kid Cudi: It’s exciting, man. I’m just ready to try new shit. I’m a dude who likes to create music with good feeling. I live like a chameleon through music. It all depends on what the beat tells me to do; that’s why you’re always gonna get passionate hooks, because I’m feeling the beats and the emotion behind the drums and melodies.

Do you feel like your own world is hell sometimes?

Kid Cudi: Yeah. Most of my groupies are spawns of the devil. [Laughs.] They’re there to take me off track and fuck up my purpose. It’s like the dark side is trying to pull me in. Who wouldn’t like a bunch of hot-ass bitches saying, “Hey, we all wanna fuck you right now!”? [Laughs.] But you have to realize that it’s an illusion, that you can get caught up, turn into a person that you never knew you could be—and I don’t wanna be that dude.

Has the girl situation really been that crazy?

Kid Cudi: Man, I was always the ugly duckling; I never got attention from girls like that. So now that it’s happening, I’m kind of hip to it. I know half of these bitches wouldn’t be talking to me if I wasn’t Kid Cudi, and I’m not no fool, you know what I’m saying? I wasn’t born yesterday.

When did you decide to move to New York?

Kid Cudi: I was working at this restaurant in Cleveland. There was this white dude in his 40s who was cool as shit and would tell me, “You’re funny and people like you. You need to move the fuck out of Ohio and just do this.” My uncle told me I could come out there and stay with him in the South Bronx until I got on my feet. I’d never met him; this was my father’s older brother, the last of my father’s siblings, so I wanted to make that connection anyway. I moved in 2004 with my little demo and maybe $500.

Compared to what you had been through, it must’ve seemed easy.

Kid Cudi: It was like growing into a man: “All right, let’s see what the fuck you’re made of. Let’s see you be a man now, mama’s boy.” It was a whole other journey. My uncle that I lived with passed in 2006. We were actually beefing because he forced me out the house when I didn’t have another situation set up, so I was bitter. I never apologized for it, and that kills me. That’s why I wrote “Day ’N’ Nite.”

How crazy is it to you that Kanye was inspired by your music?

Kid Cudi: Kanye is inspired by everybody around him. He’s inspired by life. So yeah, he kind of drew inspiration from everyone around him at that moment when it came to 808s & Heartbreak

What would your dad say to you if he was still here?

Kid Cudi: “Keep it up, young man.” He was always like, “Pick your head up! It shows confidence!” Now, with my confidence, because of my father and those moments, I remember why I’m here.

I Never Called Myself The New King Of Pop

Kanye has taken to his blog to refute the rumors of his alleged rant calling himself the “New King of Pop” after Michael Jackson’s death. ‘Ye says that’s all 100% false. YBF purposely didn’t post the whole charade because it never sounded that believable in the first place and there was never a credible source attached. Kanye’s statement:

“I was just listening to Wendy Williams’ [radio show] and heard some quote about me saying I’m the new King of Pop,” he wrote. “Not only did I not say that, I haven’t said anything. It makes me feel bad that obviously I made people feel that I would be corny enough to say something so whack after the passing of an idol, a legend and, more than that, a human being with feelings and family.

“It scares me to think what people will believe, without even a source,” he continued. “Any random person can type something on the Internet and then the world believes it. I don’t talk to press or do TV or do promotions of any sort. I’ve stopped chasing and buying into fame. Fame is like cigarettes with no surgeon general warning. It destroys most people as it did to the true and only King of Pop. We exploit ourselves and eat our own egos ’till there is nothing left. I have a feeling that this won’t be the last false statement with my name on it, but this will be the last time I defend myself. I’m done.”

The comments he’s speaking about hit the net earlier this week and were pretty crazy. The rumors had him saying nobody could touch his album sales or talent and, therefore, it’s time for a new King of Pop to take the reigns and that he is deserving of it. But clearly Mr. West never said any of it. So there you have it.

The Hurt Locker

I recently went to go see this movie and I absolutely love it.

"The Hurt Locker" is a riveting, suspenseful portrait of the courage under fire of the military’s most unrecognized heroes: the technicians of the bomb squad, who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in one of the world’s most dangerous places. Three members of the Army’s elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squad battle insurgents and each other as they seek out and disarm a wave of roadside bombs on the streets of Baghdad -- in order to try and make the city a safer place for Iraqis and Americans alike. Their mission is clear - protect and save - but it’s anything but easy, for the margin of error on a war-zone bomb is zero. A thrilling and heart-thumping look at the effects of combat and danger on the human psyche, The Hurt Lockeris based on the first-hand observations of journalist and screenwriter Mark Boal, who was embedded with a special bomb unit in Iraq.

I suggest if you haven't seen it to go and see it! It only plays at AMC and IMAX movie theaters.

Porn Star's Guide To Sex Toys

Sophia Santi (on the right) and gal pal Shay Jordan of Digital Playground get down and dirty to offer expert advice for fellas looking to add toys to their bedroom repertoire. Kinky? Yes, but you cant front, it's intriguing

SCREAMING OCTOPUS
$18 from Babeland

WHAT: Vibrating octopus
Sophia: Small vibrators are great because you can take them anywhere. Use it as a tease toy, you can use it on both parties.
Shay: Yeah, guys like vibration, they just don’t like to admit it.
Sophia: But they’ll let you do it and like it afterwards.
Shay: One or more friends would make it more fun.
Sophia:Oh my god, if everybody had two octopuses each, can you imagine?
USE IF: You’re into good vibrations.
AVOID IF: You’re allergic to squid.

SOPHIA’S LUSCIOUS LIPS
$21.99 from Digital Playground, Calexotics

WHAT: Ridged masturbator
Sophia: It’s molded in my likeness, so it would be really entertaining to watch my man use that. I like watching a guy handle his own business in front of me.
Shay: Definitely, that’s hot.
Sophia: I don’t think a guy should have this laying around the house, though. Toys always need to be bought together and at that point you can say, “Let’s do this, let’s do that.”
USE IF: Your lady doesn't give head.
AVOID IF: You want to have sex with a girl tonight.

SOPHIA’S FLUTTERING HUMMER
$17.99 from Digital Playground, Calexotics
WHAT: Vibrating Hummingbird
Sophia: Something like 80 percent of women can’t have vaginal orgasms; they need clitoral stimulation also.
Shay: It’s really better for solo use, though. It vibrates really good. I would use the whole body of the toy.
Sophia: Some guys are intimidated by vibrators, but no guy’s gonna be threatened by a hummingbird.
AVOID IF: Your little fella’s smaller than a hummingbird’s nose.

SNUGGLEPUSS
$42 from Babeland
WHAT: Ridged vibrator
Sophia: It looks like it would be good in theory, I like the idea behind it, but it's not very strong. Vibration on the inside is groovy, but you want pressure on the inside more than vibration.
Shay: It would be better with a partner because it won't really get you off, but it could be good for foreplay.
Sophia: I hate these little nubby things that they put on there. I don't know why they think girls like those.
